Quick Drop is a service available through the Alberta Depot App that lets customers drop off bags or boxes of empty beverage containers at participating Depots or designated drop-off sites. The depot sorts and counts the containers and credits the refund to the customer account.

The pilot launches in Sherwood Park in July 2026 at Sherwood Park Bottle Depot and Fir Street Bottle Depot.

Download the Alberta Depot App, create an account, bag or box your containers, write your Quick Drop ID on each bag or box, and leave them at the Quick Drop counter at a participating depot.

A customer’s returned containers are normally counted and processed within one business day and the refund amount posted to the customer’s account within the following business day. When a refund payment is requested by a customer it is usually paid within two business days of the request.

The app is free to download. A 5% service fee applies to Quick Drop transactions. (That’s $1.50 on a typical $30 return)
Interac e-transfer payouts are available once the account reaches the minimum payout amount, and a transfer fee applies.

Yes. Local charities, sports teams, clubs, schools, and community groups can create donation accounts so supporters can donate container refunds through Quick Drop.
