What are the deposit amounts?

Since November of 2008 the new deposit rates are easy! Containers that hold 1 litre or less of your favourite ready to drink beverage are worth 10 cents and containers that hold more than one litre are worth 25 cents. Try our calculator to estimate your refund.

What are the hours of my local Depot?

The hours of operation for all Depots are included in the information available through the 'Depot Location'. Some Depots have summer hours and winter hours.

What if my containers were bought outside Alberta?

Only containers bought in Alberta are eligible for a refund in Alberta. Containers purchased outside of Alberta are not eligible for a refund at an Alberta Depot, even though they may be eligible for a refund in the jurisdiction they were purchased in.

What are my empties turned into?

Which containers have a deposit?

All ready to serve beverages sold in Alberta fall under the regulation and must be registered with the Beverage Container Management Board (BCMB) by the manufacturer. All "Registered" beverage containers are eligible for a deposit refund at an Alberta Depot. it is against the law for a Depot to purchase an unregistered beverage container. Unregistered containers are usually new or foreign beverage containers, and are not eligible for a deposit refund.
