You can speed things up at the depot by taking the caps off your containers at home while you are putting the containers in your recyling bin or bag.
Please make sure you keep the plastic caps, because it can be donated to the Caps 4 Kids program, a partnership with the Rainbow Society of Alberta. For more information, click here.
Caps Off for Kids is an industry partnership between the Rainbow Society of Alberta, the Alberta Bottle Depot Association (ABDA), Depots, and ABCRC that supports the granting of wishes for Alberta's chronically ill children, and helps keep plastic caps out of landfills.
Anyone can take their plastic beverage container caps and return them for recycling at your local Alberta Depot.
All the money raised from the sale of the plastic cap material is donated to the Rainbow Society of Alberta.
